Exciting Graphics Can Be Unintended (Liechtenstein)

Having been a professional graphic designer, graphics/graphic design is a main focus of my philatelic interest. I’m drawn to graphics that interest me. Recently I acquired this cover from a box of 1 Euro items. Why?…the visual excitement: three interesting stamps from Liechtenstein, the Registered label from the capital Vaduz, the pink triangular COD label (NACHNAHME REMBOURSEMENT) and especially the bright and bold 9617 label.

I’d like to know more about the cover, and maybe someone reading this post can help. Is the 9617 label a postal tracking label or something else? The cover indicates 74.90 francs should be collected on delivery. Would that money be in payment for something in the envelope, or something else, or would a bill for that amount be in the envelope, or…? The postage of 2.40 francs seems about right for international registered mail in February 1963 when this piece was mailed, but  can anyone confirm? The three stamps are from the approximate period of the mailing, but they have the look of a philatelic cover so perhaps the COD charge is for something philatelic…any thoughts? Again, any insight would be appreciated. Just enter into the Comments section below. For now I’m just enjoying this cover as a graphically exciting item and have inserted it into the Liechtenstein section of my worldwide albums. Those albums are mainly filled with used stamps, which I think of as more authentic than mint stamps, but interspersed are covers that ‘spice up’ the album with interesting Postal History and/or exciting graphics.
