On November 3, 2021, Finland’s post office, Posti, issued a set of five winter greeting stamps two of which are shown here. Matti Pikkujamsa designed the two stamps themed First Snow. In describing his First Snow stamps Pikkujamsa said that “the cold can be warded off with closeness.” Tommi Kantola, Posti’s design manager, said “Many have warm memories of Christmas stamps…Despite the modern twist, we wanted the stamps to retain a warm visual narrative and message.”
