This 1962 Canada commemorative marked the 150th anniversary of the Toronto Stock Exchange. In 1913 the Exchange moved to a new ‘Art Deco’ headquarters building on Bay Street. A partial image of the beautiful frieze that extends across the front of the building appears on the right side of the stamp. It is a stone bas-relief designed by Canadian artist Charles Comfort in 1937 representing Canadian workers and industries. In 1983 the Exchange moved to the Exchange Tower, and the Bay Steet location became a museum and education center.
