Featured Stamp for August

September is back-to-school month, captured visually by the school bus featured on the 2023 additional ounce stamp. Look closely at the schoolhouse clock in the background. It reads ten minutes to eight; the morning bell will soon ring!
In 1939 “National School Bus Chrome” (Yellow) became the vehicle’s standard color along with black lettering. Today about 25 million children in the U.S. ride the yellow bus to school.
